Good Hart Artist Residency, in partnership with Petoskey District Library, invites you to a hands-on, immersive songwriting session led by artist Jilaine Wheatcroft on Thursday, January 9, from 6-8pm. We will hone in on the art of lyric writing as part of the songwriting process, reflecting on techniques, examples, and tools to develop your creative ideas into your songs.
No songwriting or music experience necessary! This is a space for everyone—whether you’re a musician, a storyteller, or dreamer. Come along to connect, create, and get writing! Limited spots available and registration is required.
Jilaine Wheatcroft is a composer, producer, music educator and multi-instrumentalist performer based in Oxford, United Kingdom. Under the alias ‘Lane J’, Jilaine composes cinematic orchestral, electronic synth and guitar music through digital compositions, and writes acoustic piano- and guitar-based folk. Through music, Jilaine explores the notion of taking up space and making noise, creating as a means for self development and expression.
