Event Details
The early spring ice storm of 2025 was a weather event that northern Michiganders won't forget any time soon. We all share a memory of listening to ice pouring down for hours while watching tree branches bend and crack before finally crashing to the ground. We each have our own stories of how we spent those days or even weeks without power.
Now we're a year out from that storm and during this past year, the work of many in our communities has been ongoing. Join us in the upper level of the Carnegie Building to hear reports from local leaders recapping what they've learned, explaining how the storm affected resources, and providing information on steps that have been completed, or that are in the works, to prepare us for a similar situation in the future.
Confirmed presenters:
City of Petoskey - Shane Horn, City Manager
County of Emmet - Matthew Blythe, Emmet County Emergency Management Coordinator
