Who was Aldo Leopold and why is he still relevant today? Join the Northern Michigan Master Gardener Association and the Little Traverse Conservancy for a showing of “Green Fire”, a film about Aldo Leopold, who is considered the most important conservationist of the 20th century and the father of the national wilderness system, wildlife management and ecological restoration. Hear readings of Leopold’s elegant essays and learn about the Aldo Leopold Festival, held annually in Hessel, Mich. We’ll also talk out about the work of the Aldo Leopold Foundation in Baraboo, Wisc., which is raising up the next generation of conservation leaders and educators.
