Program Description

Event Details

Join the Friends of the Petoskey Public Library in welcoming North Central Michigan College's Heidi Finley on Monday, August 26, at 7:00pm, as she shares more about the college’s Harris Gardens and its 26 sculptures by internationally renowned artists.

Jack Harris started the Mole Hole gift shop in Petoskey and it would go on to become a successful franchise with more than 200 stores operating nationwide. Jack wanted to share his success and love of art, and he gave generously to North Central Michigan College, transforming the campus into a large, beautifully landscaped sculpture garden to be enjoyed by all. In 2012, Jack provided generous funding for the new, state-of-the-art, Jack and Dorothy Harris Health Education and Science Center on the NCMC Campus. Though Jack passed away in 2013, thanks to his generosity, he's left a living legacy of art for future generations to enjoy.

NOTE:  This program will take place at the Library in Lower Level Classroom instead of the Carnegie Building due to a scheduling conflict. Please use the bell door entrance, east of the Library's main doors on Mitchell Street.
