Play in your pajamas! The children's program room will be open for ages 0-5 and their caregiver(s) for an evening playgroup. 

Stop in and join our wonderful group of knitters and crocheters every Wednesday, from 1:00-3:00pm in the Library’s Large Meeting Room. This is for any age and level of expertise, though it’s best to have some basic skills.

Featuring a new craft, taste-test, or simple challenge each week. It’s a fun, screen-free time! Dropping in during the hour is okay.

Join us every Wednesday, starting at 7:00pm, in the upper level of the Carnegie Building for the Petoskey Film Series, the Library's weekly FREE movie showing that caters to an adult audience.

String players of all abilities are welcome to join our small orchestra. The Lake Street Ensemble meets weekly at the Carnegie Building (upper level). Those attending play a variety of music and just have fun.

Join the PUPS (Petoskey Ukulele Players), a group of amateur, self-taught musicians every Thursday afternoon from 12:30pm to 3:00pm in the Lower Level Classroom. The program is open to new members of all ages and skill levels.

Calling all tween/teen fans of anime and manga! Anime club is for fans in 7th-12th grades and features activities, snacks, and anime (of course)! 

In celebration of Law Day 2026, members of Emmet-Charlevoix Bar Association are once again hosting an “Ask the Lawyers” event on Friday, May 1, on the upper level of the Carnegie Building from 4:00-6:00pm.

Join other chess enthusiasts for our Adult Chess Club. No membership needed -- just drop in and play! The Library will provide a few chess sets, but feel free to bring your own set, if you'd like.

Learn to play chess or play against others. Young people ages 8–18 are welcome to drop in. Chess Club is mentored by Robert Bemben, Robin Ray and Adam Masek.

Star Wars Trivia on Star Wars Day!

Star Wars fans of all ages are invited to test their knowledge of all things Star Wars! Prizes will be given for those who demonstrate mastery of the force.

Looking to join in on the popular game of Mah Jongg? EVERY TUESDAY from 1:00-3:00pm, we have the Lower Level Classroom set up for Mah Jongg games for players to drop in and join a game.

People ages 20-40 are invited to "A Third Place" on the first and third Tuesdays of the month in the upper level of the Carnegie Building from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

For toddlers and preschoolers and their grown up(s). Kids can explore their senses while getting messy. Activities might include water, paint, shaving cream, and scents.
